UN SDGs Advocates hold a Ceremony for 100 Children at a Primary School in PyeongChang – South Korea2/16/2018 On Feb. 16, 2018, H.E. Mrs. Erna Solberg, Prime Minister of Norway and Co-Chair of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs) Advocacy Group, together with Amb. Dho Young-Shim, Chairperson of UNWTO ST-EP Foundation and UN SDGs Advocate, led a ceremony at the Musan Community Children’s Center Primary School in PyeongChang, South Korea. The ceremony was attended by 100 school children and aimed at bringing together the messages of the Olympic spirit, the UN SDGs, and the importance of quality education for all, using a very universal and popular communication tool: UN SDG branded footballs. PM Solberg talked to them about individual and collective responsibilities to build a more peaceful and equal world by the year 2030. Other participants of the ceremony included Mr. Choi Moon Soon, Governor of Gangwon Province, host of the PyeongChang 2018 Winter Olympics and Paralympics, Ms. Kristin Kloster Aasen, International Olympic Committee Representative to Norway and Ms. Soohyun Kim, Head of Office, UNICEF Seoul Office.
