Through the Hello Friends program initiated by ICF, US Soldiers from the United States Army Garrison-Humphreys (USAG-H) in Pyeongtaek area have the opportunity to volunteer through teaching English to Korean kids with multicultural backgrounds, whose families cannot afford to pay for private lessons fees, within the framework of BOSS (Better Opportunities for Single Soldiers) initiative offering various volunteering opportunities an recreational trips to underprivileged soldiers. Located within the seaport city of Pyeongtaek, along the western coast of South Korea, and approximately 40 miles south of Seoul, Camp Humphreys is home to the Army's most active airfield in the Pacific and the center of the largest construction and transformation project in the U.S. Department of Defense's history.

Amb. DHO Young-shim, Chairperson of UN SDGs Advocates Alumni, was invited by HH Sheikha Moza bint Nasser of Qatar, UN SGDs Advocate, to attend the 2019 World Innovation Summit on Education in Doha, Qatar, as keynote speaker at EAA - Al Fakhoora’s panel titled 'From Higher Education to Meaningful Employment: Empowering marginalized youth to compete in the global economy".
The 2019 WISE Summit took place on November 19, 2019 under the theme "Unlearn, ReLearn: What it means to be Human". Amb. DHO's speech focused on educating and building the capacities of refugees, especially in the MENA region but not only, in order to create job and income opportunities for them in the travel and hospitality sectors, through knowledge process offshoring platforms. On Nov. 7, 2019, Amb. DHO Young-shim, Chair of the UN SDGs Advocates Alumni, attended the Pitch@ Palace 12.0 event at St James's Palace in London, UK, where 38 Entrepreneurs were welcomed to the stage to pitch their businesses. The Duke of York founded Pitch@Palace in 2014 to provide a platform to amplify and accelerate the work of Entrepreneurs. Pitch@Palace gives Entrepreneurs the opportunity to meet the people who can help make their business dreams become a reality. Amb DHO Young-shim attended the PATA (Pacific Asia Travel Association) Session on Nov. 6, 2019, at the World Travel Market in London, UK, as Special Advisor of PATA.
Titled ‘Personalisation and Customised Travel, the Drivers of Asian Tourism’, this special session was aimed at identifying some of the key trends that are shaping the growth of tourism in the Asia Pacific region, from destination development to digital marketing. Amb. DHO Young-sim attended the meeting of the Board of Directors of Jamaica-based Global Tourism Resilience and Crisis Management Centre (GTRCM) in London, UK on Nov. 5, 2019.
GTRCM is presently focused on four specific areas, said Bartlett: climate change and disaster management, security and cybersecurity, entrepreneurial management and data analytics and pandemic and epidemic management. GTRCM is supported through a partnership that includes the World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC), the Pacific Asia Travel Association, Travel Corporation, the Jamaica National Group, Mediterranean Tourism from Malta, Pacific Tourism Authority in Bangkok, the Tourism International Conference of Mauritius, the Crisis Management and Resilience Council in London and Global Rescue. Amb. DHO Young-Shim participated in the World Travel Market 2019 in London-UK which took place on November 5 and 6 at Excel London.
