Amb. DHO Young-shim, Chairperson of the International Charity Foundation- ICF and Chair of the UN SGs Advocates Alumni organized a mission on Nov. 27, 2020, in Andong city, in the Korean Province North Gyeongsang, in order to expand the Hello Friends program so that it benefits more multicultural families throughout Korea.
H.E. Mr. Simon SMITH, British Ambassador to the Republic of Korea, participated in this mission, which included official meetings with the Governor of Gyeongsang Province, Mr. LEE Cheol Woo, and the Mayor of Andong city, Mr. Kweon Young-Sae, as well as a visit of to a multicultural center in Andong. In the future Korean volunteers will also be invited to join the program. Hello Friends was initiated by ICF in order to provide children from multicultural families in Korea with an opportunity to learn and practice English with the support of English native speakers. So far, the project has been implemented virtually in partnership with the US military base in the city of Pyeongtaek which facilitated English language sessions by American volunteers for children families living in this area.

The Asian Leadership Conference - ALC, an event hosted annually by the Chosun Ilbo, took place online on Nov. 11, 2020. This 11th edition commemorated the 100th Anniversary of the leading the Korean leading newspaper.

This gesture connects soccer balls with the goals to end poverty and respond to climate change to the world through video conferences. The ball thrown by H.E. Erna Solberg from Norway went beyond space and time to reach the Chosun Ilbo Museum Building in Seoul. |
