As the Chairperson of the International Charity Foundation (ICF), Amb. DHO Young-shim hosted a dinner for 28 young soldiers of the US Army Garrison (USAG) in Yongsan, South Korea, as part of the Hello Friends program initiated by ICF. These US Soldiers have been volunteering to teach English to Korean kids with multicultural backgrounds, whose families cannot afford to pay for private lessons fees, within the framework of BOSS (Better Opportunities for Single Soldiers) initiative offering various volunteering opportunities an recreational trips to underprivileged soldiers.

​Amb. DHO Young-shim, Chairperson of the International Charity Foundation (ICF), attended a meeting of the Global Tourism Resilience and Crisis Management Centre (GTRCM) as Member of the Board of Governors, on June 16, 2019 in Baku, Azerbaijan.
The meeting took place during the 110th United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) Executive Council Meeting, and was conducted by the Minister of Tourism for Jamaica, the Hon. Edmund Bartlett. Its main purpose was to discuss future projects and initiatives to be launched after the opening of GTRCM offices at the University of the West Indies in October this year. The GTRCM is dedicated to helping vulnerable states across the world recover quickly from disruptions and crisis that threaten economies and livelihoods globally, using real time data and effective communication.
In Baku, Amb. Dho also had meetings with H.E. Mr. Abulfaz Garayev, Minister of Culture of the Republic of Azerbaijan, who successfully hosted the 43rd Session of the World Heritage Committee in March 2019, and Mr. Nazim Samadov, Head of Apparatus of the Ministry of Taxes of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
