The facts are:
* Experts estimate that between 11 and 20 million girls may not return to school after the pandemic. EAA advocates for the need to #UniteToProtect the right to access safe and quality education for women and girls as part of a successful vision of post COVID-19 recovery that takes us closer to SDG4.
* Female learners still face unique challenges that we must address as part of our pandemic response and recovery. To #BuildBackEducation and shape an equal future in line with SDG5, we must uphold women’s rights and leverage the true potential of women’s leadership.
* Educating girls will help reduce poverty rates globally, unlocking $30 trillion by countries that educate girls for a period of 12 years. On IWD 2021, EAA calls on the global community to prioritise our investment in girls’ education as part of the global COVID-19 recovery and our commitment to SDG1.
