Amb. DHO Young-shim, Chairperson of the UN SDGs Advocates Alumni, won a special prize at the 14th Korea Social Contribution Award and Korea Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Award Ceremony, for her contribution to the society overseas.
This award acknowledges her many international activities and responsibilities towards poverty alleviation, education and the achievement of the UN Millennium Development Goals and UN Sustainable Development Goals. A former Member of the National Assembly of the Republic of Korea, Amb. DHo Young-shim was Chairperson of the UNWTO ST-EP Foundation for 15 years, and UN MDGs and SDGs Advocate. She spearheaded the UN MDGs / SDGs Than k You Small Library, an initiative inspired by the development model of South Korea and aimed at providing reading and educational opportunities to children living in poor areas, especially in Sub-Saharan Africa.
